In Memory of Rosie
DOB unknown - Winter, 2002

Rosie was a beautiful girl found in terrible condition on the side of the highway one night near St. Louis. Her rescuer took her home and nursed her back to health even though she worked full-time and had several other dogs and cats. Rosie lived happily for a year, but since she'd never been shown any love before she was saved, she had trust issues. She would only trust her savior, but was still fearful of almost everyone else. Afraid that someday Rosie may exhibit this fear as aggression, her caretaker and a local pit bull rescuer made the decision to send Rosie to the Bridge.

Rosie was given another chance at the rescuer's house, but she still showed that she wasn't a good candidate for adoption. She was too scared to come out of her crate, and had such behavior problems that it hurts to think of what this poor little girl must have endured before that night by the highway.

Rosie's wounds healed, (shown in the pictures below) but sadly, her mental scars did not.

Special thanks to Margie Kapp and Nancy Nicodemo for loving Rosie enough to let her go...
