A Note From Foster Mom:
Bronco is definitely a totally different dog at home than he was at the boarding facility. He is a hilarious fireball! Loves to play and is just a huge puppy - 85lbs of goofball. Has tons of energy for a dog his size and would rather play ball than do anything else. Prefers the ball over a game of tug, though he is an excellent tugger.
Bronco's best friend at my house right now is Marley Kitty. Bronco pays very little attention to him most of the time, but will go and lay down next to him on the couch. Bronco is very gentle for his size, except for the tail ..... that's the most dangerous part and beware when sitting on the floor around him, that tail will get ya!
Bronco sits very well on command, recalls very well in the house & backyard. He has also mastered lay down (as of Friday) and will have roll over very soon. He is very responsive to play training and is very eager to please. He is also not a big licker and does not mouth. Releasing on command will also not be a future problem. He gets "release" on a slight prompt. He is also letting us rub and touch his feet which is a great accomplishment. Wiping off his feet from a wet outside is not a problem. Bronco also kennels very well and makes very little noise.
He and Glory are doing much better. Friday evening Donny separated Glory and Bronco by a baby gate and that was successful. Things are moving along quite well. Penny still barks at him, but Penny barks at just about anything. Bronco doesn't pay any mind to my little Penny and seems very happy when Glory and Penny now go in to his kennel room and visit.
All in all the first two days with Bronco have been great - he is a fabulous dog and will make someone a great companion if their home is set up for a huge friend. He is very large and when you get him home and he can rest his head on the counter top, his size is even more apparent. He has no idea how big he really is so that's a plus because a big attitude isn't something he has. |
