Dog name: Hoss Location: Missouri Breed: Pitbull (APBT) Age: Approx 3 years Sex: Male (neutered) Weight: 50 to 60 Lbs Color: Blue Brindle and white - Gold eyes - Blue nose Why is dog up for adoption: Hoss was abandoned by his owners when they moved out. He was on his own for two or three months. A few neighbors were feeding him every now and then. Eventually, one of them called the local rescue organization. Current Condition: According to the neighbors, the dog has always been greatly neglected by the previous owners. He was in poor condition when we picked him up, but already looks much better after just a few weeks with us. He had stitches on the right hip, but it's all healed up now. He is a very good looking dog, and has a wonderful disposition towards people. He remained calm and sweet during the vet check up, and was very stoic the whole time. Temperament with kids and adults: Excellent! Hoss is all kisses with everyone and everyone is all kisses with him! He craves affection - A real people dog. He loves to cuddle and be petted. He is also very loving and gentle with all the kids he meets, and loves to roll on his back for a belly rub. He is a little territorial but warms up quickly to strangers. A well balanced dog, not overly submissive, but not too dominant either.

Attitude around other animals: Hoss is okay with females but must be supervised at all time. Not good with other males. We were told he lived with cats before and didn't bother them. Obedience Level: Despite the fact that he probably never had any formal training, he seems eager to please and learns quickly. He had never been in a car, but it took only three days to get him use to it, and he loves it now. He is housebroken and we will continue to work on basic obedience while he is with us.

Additional Information: Hoss is an outstanding full blooded Blue Brindle APBT or AmStaff. He is a perfect representant of the breed both mentally and physically and we believe he will make a family very proud and happy. He is so good with kids, that we would find it a waste to place him in a home with no children.

He is sweet, friendly, playfull, and likes to cuddle. A typical little pup. Will be fostered in a home with other dogs, and cats and will be crate trained. Has received his first two vaccines. Out of State Restriction: Will send a volunteer to meet the applicant and do a home check. References WILL be contacted. New owner must pay all shipping expenses.
