When I first saw this beautiful red/red nosed bulldog at my shelter, I
knew he would come home to live with me. He was obviously a fought dog,
but what wasn't obvious was the hidden problems inside. Over the next
six months these slowly came to light as he became well. I thought I
could rehabilitate him. I had friends to help. After seeing his hatred
of men in general, and living through the eventual aggression toward
Buster and Boo Boo, and then me, I decided with great guilt to release
Ivan from his hell on earth. He never did become comfortable in his
world, never was really happy. I hated the people that destroyed him
before he even had a chance. To this day I find myself wishing that I
had another chance, a second try to help him.
I'm sure we will meet again one day.
