This is one of our most upsetting rescues to date. This female pit bull was left behind, tied on an 18" chain to an air conditioning unit, after the owner moved. Unsure whether the people had actually moved or just were away on vacation, the neighbors waited before calling us. She was in horrible shape. She was malnourished, dehydrated and worst of all, her uterus had prolapsed (actually "fell outside" her body). She was in extreme pain and still let us approach her, sensing we were there to help her. Unfortunately, without funding to get the proper veterinary care to correct this problem, we had no alternative but to put her down. A prolapsed uterus is a very "fixable" and common dog problem, but with our limited money, we had no choice in her case.
